WHAT WE
BELIEVE

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the only infallible guide and rule of our faith and practice.

(Psalm 119:89; Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:15-17; 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God

We believe there is one God. In the unity of

the Godhead, there are three persons, Father,

Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine

perfection and attribute, fulfilling distinct, but

complimentary roles in the great work of redemption.

(Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Timothy 1:17)

The Fall of Mankind

We believe the human race is fallen from its original position of dominion and state because of the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

(Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10,2:23, 5:12, 5:19)

Spirit-Filled Life

We believe every Christian should walk and live in daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit and experience continual renewing of God’s

power to live a Spirit-filled life in attitudes, thoughts, speech, and conduct. In order to build up and equip the Body of Christ, the Holy

Spirit gives spiritual gifts that are to be exercised in love while maintaining proper spiritual order. The fruit of the Spirit to be cultivated and evident in the life of every believer is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

(John 15:4-8; Acts 4:31; Romans 8:1-9; 12:1-2,12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 12:7-11, 12:31; 2 Corinthians 7:1;Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:11, 4:30-32, 5:18; 1Thessalonians 5:19-22; 1 Peter 1:15, 4:10-11; 1 John 2:6)

Resurrection

We believe the resurrection of our Lord

Jesus Christ assures the believer of bodily

resurrection and eternal life.

(Matthew 28:1-7; Romans 6:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22;

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18)

Second Coming of Christ

We believe the second coming of Christ will be triumphant, visible, and personal.

(Zechariah14:4; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:11; 1

Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8; Titus 2:12- 13; Revelation 1:7).

Communion

We believe in partaking of the bread and the cup of communion in remembrance of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. We offer to communion to all believers regardless of church affiliation.

(Luke 22:7-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)

Baptism in The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in every believer at the moment of salvation. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from salvation, releasing the power of the Holy Spirit through faith. Consistent with biblical accounts, believers should anticipate Spirit-baptism to be accompanied by speaking in tongues or other biblical manifestations. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is to endue the believer with power from God, to offer an inspired witness for Christ, to lead the believer in a life of holiness, and to equip for a Spirit-filled life of service.

(John 7:37-39, 14:16; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39, 8:14-17, 10:44-46. 19:6; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16)

The Plan of Redemption

We believe Jesus Christ was the sacrifice God planned from the foundation of the world for the sin of the human race. By shedding His blood and dying on the cross, Jesus made provision for the salvation of all people.

(Isaiah 53:5; Titus 2:14; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:19-20)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by God’s grace alone because we are unable to save ourselves. God’s grace is received by faith with

repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Savior.

(John 3:3, 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-10;

1 Peter 2:24)

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father,Son, and Holy Spirit is an outward sign of an inward change, and is an act of obedience to God.

(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4)

Our History

In 2017 we very clearly heard the Lord speak to: “prepare a place for his people”. Shortly after sharing the vision with Pastor Jeff and Kristie Tyler of Open Bible Church in Lawrenceburg Kentucky, they were fully supportive of the vision the Lord had given to Tommy & Michelle for Emerge. They offered their church facility at no expense for Emerge Ministries to launch.

The Lord provided an opportunity to purchase a foreclosure property. It was previously a gas station called Gas N Go located in Frankfort, KY. The building had been vacant for 7 years. The first time Tommy and Michelle looked at the building, it was cold outside, freezing to be exact. It was so full of dead mice, raccoons, and critter droppings….it stunk…BAD. Michelle looked at Tommy, with her hand over her nose and simply said, “This isn’t it.” Then, she politely left the building and went back to the car. Tommy and Michelle headed back home. Tommy kept trying to convince Michelle that this was a great fixer upper. Then the Lord stepped in and gave Michelle a dream, revealing the completed Sanctuary. He then spoke and told her not to judge something on how it looks because she didn’t look good either before He made her a new creation. Michelle woke up and told Tommy about the dream, and they purchased the building in April 2017. Tommy began the renovations immediately, and we had our Grand Opening service 3 ½ months later on Sunday July 23rd at 11am. The realtor’s name was Jonah.

From day 1, we hit the ground running! We started seeking the Lord on what He wanted ministry to look like at Emerge. We prayed, we fasted. He spoke, He revealed, He confirmed (often multiple times), and we were obedient to what He showed us, how He showed us, even if we didn’t (and still don’t) understand….but we trust Him! We jumped in feet first, and before we knew it, we were running multiple ministries around the clock:  Outreach, Addiction, Counseling, Youth, Women’s, Men’s, Young Adults, Living Free groups, Intercessory Prayer, and we are a satellite campus for INSTE Bible College. These ministries are alive and well today as we continue on being about our Father’s business. Over the years, we’ve had the honor and privilege to witness and participate in many Salvations, Baptisms, Baby Dedications, Weddings, Business Dedications, and Celebration of Life services. In addition, God has blessed us with the opportunity to ordain, cultivate, cover, and send out Ministers who are committed to carrying out God’s Kingdom work.

Our mission is to see people saved, healed, delivered, set free, and restored to wholeness in Christ. Our motivation in how we advance in ministry is summed up in this: “But if I say I’ll never mention the LORD or speak in His name, His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it! (Jeremiah 20:9 NLT) As we go forth, we remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV).  Our heart’s desire is to make it known that “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16 NIV). By no means have we achieved perfection, but we continue to press on towards the goal with the understanding of Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT) which says: “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing; Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
